FM Qureshi urges US to do more
ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that enough has been discussed and said by the United States about the bilateral cooperation, now it is time to act.
Addressing a news conference here on Thursday, Qursehi said: “There will be no talks about 'do more’. We have already done enough. Now it is the US turn to do something.”
The foreign minister said India is faced with internal disarray regarding resumption of talks with Islamabad.
He said Pak-US strategic dialogue would commence on March 24. Qureshi said the government has prepared a three-point strategy after having consultations with all concerned bodies ahead of Washington talks.
“Contrary to our past experience, we are now going for talks with new vision and with complete preparation,” he added.
To a question, the FM said there is no harm in sending the foreign secretaries to the G.H.Q for preparation of talks.
He said the army chief would never visit the foreign office in the past, but now as a result of better understanding and cooperation between institutions, the Army Chief has visited the Foreign Office.
