PML-N asked to adopt ‘clear stance’ on NWFP renaming issue

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should adopt a clear stance on the renaming of NWFP instead of using delaying tactics, Railways Minister Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said on Sunday. Bilour expressed his desire for the province to be re-named “Pukhtoonkhwa,” while talking to reporters. “The PML-N needs to come up with a clear mindset in renaming the NWFP province, the ANP will be obliged to Mian Nawaz Sharif if he agrees on Pukhtoonkhwa,” Bilour said. He said that currently there are three names under consideration, Pukhtoonkhwa, Pukhtoonistan and Afghania, and in the word Pakistan, coined by Chaudhry Rehmat Ali, ‘A’ represented Afghania. Bilour said that it was his view that the PML-N leadership has no reservations on Pukhtoonkhwa, but some of the party leaders are misguiding them in this regard. app
