Lip service not enough; practical steps needed, FM tells US
WASHINGTON: Following the meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and US special representative to Pakistan and Afghanistan Richard Holbrooke, FM Qureshi told Geo news, to be held strategic dialogue, between two close allies on war on terrorism, will open new chapter of cooperation and trust, Geo news reported.
He said now, US should take practical steps to help Pakistan strengthen trust on it instead of lip service.
While talking to Geo news on the occasion, Holbrooke said Pak-US strategic dialogue will feature issues relating to development in education, water and energy sectors in Pakistan.
Responding to a question regarding slowness in delivery of US aid to Pakistan, he held US Congress’s rules and regulations responsible for delay in pledged aid to Pakistan.
