Qureshi seeks qualitative improvement in Pak-US ties
WASHINGTON: Pakistan is seeking a qualitative improvement in ties with the US, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Tuesday. “We want a qualitative difference in our relationship and build this into a partnership,” said Qureshi after a meeting with senators John Kerry and Richard Lugar. Qureshi said the discussions with the top US senators focussed on ways to transform Pak-US ties into a long-term partnership. He said he highlighted Pakistan’s anti-terror progress and cooperation with the US in the context of future challenges. “The senators clearly see the institutional connect that we have developed.” COAS Gen Ashfaq Kayani also attended the meeting. app
