Sindh govt to introduce health insurance cards for journalists
KARACHI: Sindh government’s media coordinator Taj Haider Wednesday said that the government believed in freedom of expression and speech and will take care of the needs of the journalists.
This he said while presenting a cheque of Rs 100,000 to the ailing journalist Mehmood Ghoto, district reporter of Daily Ibrat, here. Haider said that Sindh government was going to introduce health insurance cards for journalists and it would definitely help reduce their problems.
He stated that it was also the responsibility of the private institutions to look after requirements of their employees and if they did so, they could be able to give a helping hand to the government. Haider pointed out that democracy and journalism could not be separated and that they were inter-dependent and without healthy journalism a society could not be called a balanced society. On the occasion Bureau Chief of Daily Ibrat Suleh Baloch, Director Administration Sindh Information Department Tariq Hussain Khero and Director Press Information SM Iqbal were also present, says an official statement issued here said. app
