Judges case; SC nullifies decision of parliamentary committee
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Friday annulled decision of Parliamentary Committee on rejecting the nomination of High Court judges, Geo News reported.Four-member bench of the SC headed by Justice M A Shahid Sidduqui also ordered for issuing notification for extension of tenure of six judges of Sindh and Lahore High Court for one year.
In its brief verdict, the bench rejected the recommendation of the parliamentary commission and ordered for issuing notification for extension of four judges of LHC and two of the SHC on the recommendation of Judicial Commission.
It is pertinent to mention here that Parliamentary Committee for appointment of judges had rejected recommendation of judicial commission for appointing six High Court judges.(GEO URDU)
