Musharraf’s arrest warrants issued for 3rd time in BB case

Staff Report

RAWALPINDI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday, while reissuing a non-bailable arrest warrant against Pervez Musharraf for the third time in the Benazir Bhutto assassination case, gave the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) 15 more days to arrest the former president.

The court of judge Rana Mukhtar also directed that the warrant should be delivered at Musharraf’s new address.

An FIA official requested the court for a month’s time to implement its (court) order but the judge granted 15 days. The FIA official told the court that “the agency has approached the Foreign Office to serve the notice to his residence in the United Kingdom”.

The hearing took place in the Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, and was adjourned until March 19. Sources in the FIA said that the warrant would be delivered at Musharraf’s new address obtained from the Foreign Office.

Earlier, the court had directed the FIA to get Musharraf’s London address for issuing red warrant against him. The court had issued warrants for Musharraf’s arrest on February 12 and February 19.
