US to ensure coalition support aid to Pakistan

LAHORE: US Special Envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan Mark Graphsman said that the US will ensure the aid due to Pakistan under the Coalition Support Fund (CSF), a private TV channel reported on Sunday.

According to Finance Ministry sources, Graphsman called on Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh in Islamabad, where the minister briefed the envoy on Pakistan’s financial situation. Hafeez said that the government took hard decisions to make the country’s economy prosperous and referred to the recent hike in petroleum prices in this regard, the channel reported.

Talking to journalists after the meeting, the US envoy said that the finance minister highlighted the delay in providing the aid due to Pakistan under the CSF and the US admitted that it would ensure that the amount should be provided to Pakistan in time, the channel reported the US envoy as saying.
