SC takes notice of strike in Sindh over NAB chief’s removal

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court, while taking a suo motu notice of the shutter-down strike in Sindh against its (court) verdict that had declared the appointment of National Accountability Chairman (NAB) Chairman, Deedar Hussain Shah, as null and void, directed the Sindh chief secretary to submit before the court on Monday a complete record of the government’s measures against those political leaders who had called the strike. As per reports, the apex court has also required the secretary to inform it whether criminal cases have been registered over the life and property losses that resulted from the strike and whether the government has offered any compensation in this respect. The court has ordered the PEMRA chairman to furnish all TV channels’ evidences regarding the strike. Furthermore, the court has asked the Sindh Assembly secretary to provide a record of MPAs’ speeches in the assembly’s session of March14. staff report
