Reservations of MQM will be removed: Malik

KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik said on Sunday that all the reservations of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will be removed on war-footing and the country will be cleansed of terrorist and criminal elements.

The minister hoped the PPP government would complete its five-year term with the support of all the coalition partners. The MQM, he said, stood by the government in every difficult time. “Being a worker of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and a federal minister, I want to give assurance to MQM chief Altaf Hussain and his party’s coordination committee that our intentions are good and we will remove their genuine grievances,” averred Malik, who met Altaf in London and had a detailed discussion with him over several important issues.
