Ch Nisar claims no letter received from president

ISLAMABAD: Leader of opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, on Sunday claimed he had not received any letter from the president so far regarding the reappointment of Syed Deedar Hussain Shah as National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman.

Addressing a press conference, he said that everyone, including media, was talking about the letter but he had yet to receive it. “I was in Lahore when I was informed that I would get a letter from the president upon my arrival in Islamabad but it has yet to be delivered to me,” he added.

Nisar said that he would respond to the letter after receiving it. He claimed that the government did not wait for the detailed decision of the Supreme Court regarding the appointment of Shah as NAB chairman and wrote another letter to him for counselling. Nisar said that respect and honour should be given to the decisions of the court. app
