Bogus voters case: Notice issued to ECP, NADRA, AG


ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), NADRA and Attorney General on a petition filed for removal of about 37 million bogus votes from the voter lists, Geo News reported on Tuesday.

Two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted the initial hearing of the case.

In the petition it was contended that there were 37.8 million bogus votes in the computerized lists prepared by ECP. The petitioner pleaded about removal of all such dubious votes from the list.

The court issued notices to Chief Election Commissioner, NADRA and Attorney General seeking detailed response from them within 10 days. (GEO URDU)
