Rehman briefs PM on meeting with Altaf
ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik Monday called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at the PM Secretariat and briefed him on the former’s meeting with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain during his visit to London.On the occasion Prime Minister said that the government was determined to take all necessary measures for the protection of lives and properties of all the citizens of the country.
In this context, he added, the government was consulting all the political parties and stakeholders on regular basis so that the nefarious agenda of saboteurs and terrorists could be thwarted.
He directed the Interior Minister that coordination among the law enforcement agencies should be further improved to curb the activities of anti-state elements.
The overall security situation and steps taken by the law enforcing agencies were also discussed in the meeting.
