Kazmi handed-over to FIA on 5-day remand
ISLAMABAD: Former religious affairs minister Hamid Saeed Kazmi has been handed over to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on five-day physical remand, Geo News reported.
Special Judge Central (SJC) Sohail Nasir on Tuesday rejected the bail of former minister in the infamous Haj corruption scandal. Upon rejection of his bail, Kazmi was immediately arrested by the FIA officers from the courtroom.
Today, he was produced before the court of Senior Civil Judge Mohammad Aslam. The FIA requested for 14-day remand but the court granted five-day remand.
The FIA had registered a case against the minister for corruption during the Haj season in 2010. The former federal minister had been on interim bail till his luck ran out on Tuesday.
