Gilani, Kausar condemn drone attack in Datta KhelISLAMABAD/ PESHAWAR: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Masood Kausar strongly condemned the drone strike which killed at least 38 civilians in Datta Khel area of North Waziristan on Thursday. In a statement, the prime minister expressed profound grief and sorrow over the loss of innocent lives in the drone attack. He also offered heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families. The prime minister said that all possible measures would be taken to protect the people of the region. The KP governor termed the strike an attack on the country’s sovereignty and solidarity. “I strongly condemn this attack. A tribal jirga (council) was targeted in which several tribal elders and policemen were martyred,” Kausar said in a condemnation statement. staff report
