JUI-F undecided on strategy for parliament’s joint sitting

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) parliamentary party, which met on Monday, remained undecided on the question as to how to respond to the president’s address to the joint session of parliament. However, being undecided, it was suggested that the joint opposition in the National Assembly should meet today (Tuesday) to reach a unanimous decision over the president’s address. “We are in contact with opposition parties. Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, has also contacted JUI-F chief, Maulana Fazalur Rehman, and discussed strategy for the president’s address, and the opposition parties can meet any time on Tuesday (today),” said JUI-F Secretary General, Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri. Haideri made it clear that the JUI-F along with all the opposition parties would take a unanimous decision in this regard. Earlier, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Salim Saifullah separately contacted Fazlur Rehman by phone to discuss the strategy for the president’s address. staff report
