NA speaker issues order to ensure Kazmi’s presence in parliament
ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker, Dr Fehmida Mirza, on Monday directed authorities concerned to ensure presence of former religious affairs minister, Hamid Saeed Kazmi, in the joint session of parliament to be addressed by President Asif Ali Zardari. Kazmi, a sitting PPP legislator, was arrested on the order of a Rawalpindi court, on the charges of massive corruption in Hajj arrangements. The investigators arrested the minister when the court turned down his pre- arrest bail. It is pertinent to mention that Zardari is the only president who will address the joint session of parliament for the fourth parliamentary year. staff report
