Change in Karachi situation soon: Malik


ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik Tuesday said that people who are involved in unrest in Karachi have been identified and being hunted.

People would see a change in Karachi situation soon, he told media here at Parliament House after attending presidential address.

He said operation against elements involved in target killings in Karachi were ordered by the President of Pakistan and action would be initiated soon.

"President Asif Ali Zardari has directed that peace must be restored in the city at all costs," he added.

Earlier, Rehman Malik welcomed the Presidential address to joint sitting of the parliament and said it would strengthen democratic institutions of the country as well as help implement the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

To a question regarding boycott of the joint session by opposition parties, he said these people make tall claims of strengthening democracy and at the same time they boycott the House proceedings.

He, however, said: "We are thankful to those who attended the Presidential address and also those who staged walk out."
