Arab, Africa situation can affect Pakistan too: Bashir

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Secretary, Salman Bashir Saturday expressed the concern that tension prevailing in Arab region and Northern Africa could also affect Pakistan, Geo News reported.

The restive situation in Libya, Bahrain and other countries of this region was reviewed at a meeting of Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs chaired by Salim Saifullah.

Salman Bashir on the occasion termed the resolution adopted by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) as a sign of alarm.

He said a task force has already been formed for pulling Pakistanis out of Libya and Bahrain.

The Foreign Secretary said Pakistan was deeply concerned on the use of force against Libya and that a big crisis seems to be in the offing in Arab region and Northern Africa.

The Senate Standing Committee had asked the government to send review delegations to Middle Eastern countries.
