Supreme Court moved against appointment of NBP president

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has been moved against the appointment of the acting president of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP). Muhammad Idrees filed a petition under Article 184 of the constitution, making the federation, State Bank of Pakistan, NBP President Qamar Hussain and former NBP president Ali Raza as respondents. The petitioner contended that according to the NBP rules, the NBP acting president could not run the affairs of the bank. He said that the appointment was also in violation of the SBP rules. He prayed the court to remove Hussain from the post of acting president. staff report
