Zardari, Gul discuss holy Quran’s desecration

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday telephoned Turkey’s President Abdullah Gul and talked about the recent incident of the deliberate desecration of the holy Quran by a lunatic in Florida.
The president stressed the need for collective efforts urging the United Nations to take notice of it and evolve plans for promoting cultural and religious harmony in the world.
The two presidents agreed that the deliberate desecration of the holy Quran was the most despicable act and steps need to be taken to prevent the recurrence of such irrational acts. The two leaders also discussed bilateral ties and the regional situation.
