Muttahida Central Council formed: Dr. Sattar
KARACHI: Deputy Convener of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Dr. Farooq Sattar Sunday announced formation of Muttahida Central Council.
Addressing a press conference here at Khursheed Memorial Hall near MQM Headquarters, Dr. Farooq Sattar said formation of the council was undertaken with aim to make the best use of the brains coming into the MQM folds.
He said the members of the Council will be responsible to publicize message of the party and provide consultation to the MQM Rabita Committee on various challenges which are being confronted by the country and nation.
Dr. Sattar said the Central Council will also play its role in preparing election manifesto, designing political programs and developing contacts with the political and religious leaders.
The Council, he added, will also coordinate with Rabita Committee in policy making of the party and promote the philosophy and message of MQM chief Altaf Hussain, across the country.
He expressed the hope that establishment of the CC will prove beneficial for the country and the nation and experts will feel honored to be associated with it.
The MQM leader appealed to the experts including lawyers, industrialists, retired army officials and people from cross sections of the society to strengthen the party which is working for betterment of the country.
Members Rabita Committee, Raza Haroon, Mrs. Nasreen Jaleeland Mustafa Kamal were also present on the occasion.
