Pak-India semi final to bring countries closer: Indian HC
ISLAMABAD: Indian High Commissioner Sharat Sabharwal has said that the World Cup semi final between India and Pakistan to be played in Mohali, India would help bring two countries closer, Geo News reported Sunday.
He was talking to media during a friendly cricket match between cricket teams of Indian High Commission and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Sabharwal said the Mohali match would be very exciting and that the process of issuance of visas to Pakistanis for the semi final is underway.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani accepted the invitation of his Indian counterpart Dr Manmohan Singh to watch the cricket World Cup semi-final match between Pakistan and India in Mohali on March 30.
According to official sources, Prime Minister Gilani will informally meet Manmohan Singh during the match and a formal meeting will be held after the match in which bilateral matters will come under discussion.
