Imran lashes out at Rehman over warning
KOLKATA: Former captain of Pakistan cricket team, Imran Khan Monday termed the Interior Minister Rehman Malik’s statement on spot fixing as highly disappointing, Geo News reported.
Earlier today, Rehman Malik warned the Pakistan cricket team against what happened in London in the past, saying strict action would be initiated this time in case something like that repeated in the upcoming match against India.
Imran Khan termed the Interior Minister’s statement as highly disappointing, however, he said the national team must not have got a chance to hear it because, he added, the team had a lot more important thing to do.
Rehman Malik warned the team that it was under strict surveillance, hoping the team would not be involved in any kind of fixing.
In a TV program in Kolkata, Imran Khan said he would keep more vigilant eye on Rehman Malik than on Pakistan cricket team. “If (Pakistan) cricket is to be kept away from corruption, then backing of criminal activities must be avoided at any level,” he added.
