South Korean delegation visits USC
Islamabad: Korean delegation lead by His Excellency Shaukat Ali Mukadam, Pakistan Ambassador to South Korea visited USC Head Office at Islamabad. The delegation comprised Chief Executive Lotte Group of Companies and Chairman Wisdom Group of Companies. A detailed briefing on the performance of Utility Stores Corporation was given to delegation by Major General (Retd) Malik Muhammad Farooq, HI (M), Managing Director Utility Stores Corporation. The delegation appreciated the performance of USC and both sides exchanged their views. His Excellency Mr. Shaukat Ali Mukadam, Pakistan Ambassador to South Korea apprised that during his tenure as ambassador to South Korea, the trade between both the countries has considerably expanded. A number of mutual projects have met success. It has all been possible due to efforts of Pakistan Embassy at South Korea. He assured that many more projects will be undertaken by both the countries.
The visiting delegation appreciated the progress made by Utility Stores Corporation in volume of sales having an increased upto 52% till the end of current fiscal year. The delegation was apprised that the Corporation has achieved a sale of Rs. 6 billion during the month of January as well as February which is a record sale in the history of USC. With the opening of new stores, the volume of sales will further increase. The delegation appreciated the hard work of Management and employees in not only increasing the sales, but providing best services to the consumers during the era of price hike. The delegation was apprised that as per vision of the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan Chauhdry Pervez Ellahi, the Corporation is meeting its objectives and as of today has become a success story. It will further increase the number of stores after the availability of finances by the Government. The delegation was also apprised that under the expansion, opening of Franchise Stores shall be encouraged to generate self-employment. pr
