Swiss envoy for improved ties with Pak

KARACHI: Ambassador of Switzerland Christoph Bubb has said that Switzerland was interested in strengthen ties with Pakistan and the Swiss people would continue their support for flood affected segments of Pakistan.

He expressed these views recently while talking to journalists at a ceremony, held at the consulate of Switzerland in Karachi, where he arrived in connection with his visit to interior areas of the province.

He was of the view that Switzerland would increase its investments in local industry of the country, despite law and order situations. He said not only local economy but bilateral relations between the two countries would be strengthened.

Earlier consul general of Switzerland in Karachi Didier Boschung said while addressing the ceremony that the people of Switzerland, through the Swiss Red cross, donated 50 million dollars to build 700 houses in various areas of Sindh, being affected by the deadly floods in 2010.A large number of senior journalists and prominent business tycoons shared their views with the diplomats on the occasion. During informal conversation briefed the ambassador about the current political and economic situations and the potential lies in the city, as well as the country. staff report
