Sindh government failed in providing security to masses: SC
KARACHI: Sindh government has completely failed in providing security to the people as well as their assets, the Supreme Court of Pakistan said in its verdict on Karachi law and order case, Geo News reported Friday.
In a written order issued here, the apex court sought report from Military Intelligence (MI) and Inter-Service Intelligence (ISI) on Karachi unrest in three days. The Supreme Court also gave Sindh government a three-day deadline to come up with a report on Abbas Town carnage.
The SC in the order, has directed the concerned authorities to form an investigation team comprising competent and honest officials. Also, the SC directed, the team, yet to be formed, to culminate its investigation in the arrests of Abbas Town bombing suspects.
The apex court said it had ordered depoliticization of police in Karachi in one its earlier verdicts but nothing happened.
The Supreme Court also issued notices to Defence and Interior Secretaries, directing them to submit their replies.
