SC fixes Raja’s plea in RPPs case for tomorrow

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Saturday accepted Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf’s letter to the chief justice of Pakistan as a petition to constitute a commission in the rental power projects (RPPs) case, and fixed it for tomorrow (Monday).

The court registered the letter for the appointment of an independent commission of Dr Shoaib Suddle as a ‘civil miscellaneous application’, and issued a notice to Raja Pervez Ashraf to appear in person or through his counsel who had been appearing before the court during earlier proceedings.

The PM had requested the CJP to form the commission with a contention that the case was propaganda against him.
