Army will be deployed in, outside sensitive polling stations: ECPHYDERABAD: Member, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Sindh, Roshan Essani Sunday said that army troops will be deployed in and outside the polling stations marked as sensitive.
“The Chief of Army Staff (General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani) has assured of every legal cooperation during the elections,” he said while talking to media persons here.
He said in the upcoming general elections, the returning officers will have unprecedented powers at their disposal.
Roshan Isani said the exercise is underway to identify sensitive polling stations for which cooperation of Army, FC and Rangers will also be used.
He said coordination committees headed by district and sessions judges have been formed which will ensure swift redressal of grievances.
Essani told the reporters that deployment of returning officers have been made for 13 districts in Sindh.
