PPP man from Lyari joins hands with MQM
Staff Report
KARACHI: Pakistan People Party prominent leader and former federal minister Nabeel Gabool joined Muttahida Qaumi Movement, alleging PPP for neglecting and ruining his electoral constituency, here on Sunday.
Gabool announced this while addressing a press conference at the MQM headquarters. Speaking on the occasion, he said that serving to people was the only purpose of politics to him, while he could not fulfill his duties in hostage area of Lyari because of PPP. He added that now he was joining MQM to serve masses in the country.
Talking about Lyari, he said that he had been approaching the party leadership for three years to get them informed about rising criminal elements in the area, but the party avoid to realise the situation. He further said that his relations were faded with PPP, when the then provincial home minister initiated interference and supporting criminals in the Lyari area. He termed the situation of Lyari as a bomb, whose explosion would impose its effects on entire country as well as the metropolis.
He vowed that he would unite the Sindhi, Baloch, Pashtoon and Punjabi pockets, dwelling in Sindh, besides eliminating the misperception that MQM is only for a particular community.
Later, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain welcomed the former PPP leader from Lyari Nabeel Gabol and his companions in MQM. Hussain said that Gabol belonged to a respected political family that had been settled in Karachi even before the creation of Pakistan. He said that members of his family had been successful in elections from Karachi before the independence of the country.
He expressed hopes that the arrival of Gabol in the MQM would be helpful in promoting unity and establishing an environment of peace and brotherhood. Brotherly relations between linguistic entities living in Sindh would improve, and together we would change Pakistan.
