Over 80,000 polling stations to be set up

ISLAMABAD: Over 80 thousand polling stations would be set up for upcoming general elections while training of electoral staff is currently in progress.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan, seven lakh electoral staff would discharge their duties during the elections for 272 seats of National Assembly and 577 seats of the provincial assemblies.

The commission has also made appointments of 425 returning officers and 709 assistant returning officers for 126 districts across the country.

The poling stations would be set up at the government buildings in all constituencies while the security personnel would also be deployed at sensitive polling stations to avoid any untoward incident.
