JUI-F considers approaching SC over opposition post
QUETTA: The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has hinted to move the Apex Court over the issue of opposition leader in Balochistan.
Talking to journalists after attending an event of Balochistan Bar Association here on Wednesday, JUI-F President, Senator Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani said they would move to Supreme Court and Election Commission over restoring Nawabzada Tariq Magsi as Opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly. “This is the beauty of democracy that all institutions should work within their ambits,” he added. He said it was their constitutional right to challenge the judgment of High Court in Supreme Court and would go to all forums for their rights if required. Senator Sherani said that Opposition leader in Balochistan Assembly belonged to JUI-F and Speaker had issued his notification and it could not be challenged at any court. It may be mentioned here that that a divisional bench of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) rejected an earlier notification by Speaker Balochistan Assembly Syed Matiullah Agha regarding the appointment of Maulana Wasay of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) and restored Nawabzada Tariq Magsi as the opposition leader in the provincial assembly. staff report
