NAB, FBR and State Bank bound to scrutinise candidates within 12 hours: ECP Additional Secretary
ISLAMABAD: Additional Secretary of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Afzal Khan said Friday that the National Accountability Bureau , Federal Board of Revenue and State Bank of Pakistan would be bound to scrutinise candidates within 12 hours
Speaking to the media here, Khan said that only those candidates who receive a clean chit from these institutions would be allowed to contest elections which are scheduled to take place on May 11. Khan added that if concrete evidence regarding a candidate was received even after the elections, they would be declared ineligible.
According to the additional secretary those candidates who are defaulters of MNA and MPA hostels, government institutions and residences will also not be allowed to contest elections.
Khan told reporters that prominent candidates would be given special focus during the process of scrutiny.
He further that added that there were only ten districts in the country where there was no internet service and these districts would be provided wireless internet.
