Nisar has a history of sabotaging demoratic process: Kaira
ISLAMABAD: Secretary Information of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Qamar Zaman Kaira Friday said that PML-N's Chaudhry Nisar was only trying to sabotage the democratic process, Geo News reported.
"Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader had a history of such adventurism, which is shameful, said he talking to a media here.
Kaira clarified that there was no deadlock on the selection of caretaker prime minister and the matter would be resolved according to the Constitution of Pakistan.
"We only want a caretaker prime minister who should be impartial and must have the capability to ensure free, fair and transparent elections" said he.
He said PML-N proposed candidates had a proven antagonism with the PPP.
"We have even stronger reservations over Nasir Aslam Zahid's name as caretaker prime minister.
Replying to a question, he said that PPP had a democratic right to raise concern over any controversial name for caretaker Prime Minister.
He said that PPP believed in the politics of reconciliation for the solution of any issue with consensus of all the stakeholders.
He said that parliamentary committee would review the name of caretaker PM and mater should be resolved according to the constitution of the country.
Replying to a question, he said that President Asif Ali Zardari has fully committed to ensure transparency in the coming elections.
He said that President Zardari had transferred all the powers to the Parliament to make the democratic institutions strong.
He said PPP had never done injustice to any party.
PPP had proposed the names of clean reputable individuals for interim prime minister, he added.
Replying to a question, Qamar Zaman Kaira said PPP had given the representation to its coalition partners in the parliamentary committee to nominate caretaker Prime Minister while PML-N did not given the representation to other parties in the committee.
