PPP to win general elections with majority: Gilani

ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Sunday said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would win the forthcoming general elections with a majority. He claimed that during its tenure, the PPP had catered for the basic needs of the public without any discrimination. “Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was sent to gallows for giving self-respect, identity, right of vote and courage to the deprived segments of society,” he said. He said the restoration of 1973 Constitution, which was “disfigured” by the dictators, to its original form was the biggest ever achievement of the PPP. Replying to another question, he said the PPP considered the people its main source of strength. app
