IHC annuls contracts for Rs 5bn uplift work in Raja’s constituency
ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday declared null and void contracts awarded for development schemes worth Rs 5 billion in former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf’s constituency. According to sources the court scrapped the deal for it was found “not only shoddy” but also against Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules and regulations. Directing the National Logistics Cell (NLC) to immediately return the amount paid, the IHC ordered the authorities concerned to invite bids and re-award the contract within 30 days in accordance with the PPRA rules. inp
