Minister pays tribute to women
ISLAMABAD: On the International Women’s Day, Minister of State, Saira Afzal Tarar has paid tribute to all the women who are contributing towards the progress of the country.
Speaking on the theme “Inspiring Change” of this year’s International Women’s Day, she said that women are shining in every field and this is the right time to engage them in policy making decisions and pro women legislations. The minister added that it is a great honour for her that she is representing the women of Pakistan in parliament. She said that we need to take a step forward and pledge to ourselves that we would groom our young girls with the same passion and commitment so that they could become the inspiring change for society and for Pakistan. Saira said that the government affirms faith in fundamental right of humans to live without violence and it is the basic human right for all people, including women and girls. She added that the right to seek equal justice without discrimination is a basic human right.
The minister said that it should be our moral duty to uphold these rights. “It is an opportunity for the whole nation to join hands in the cause that embraces all humanity empowering women.
