Tharparkar famine: SHC orders district judge to submit report
KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Tuesday ordered the district court judge to undertake a visit of the famine-hit area of Tharparkar and submit a report enlisting the findings based on ground realities.
Faisal Siddiqui advocate filed a petition in SHC in connection with the basic right of the Tharparkar’s people to the availability of food.
The SHC directed a district judge to visit the desert area in Tharparkar district and present a report on the ground realities viz a viz the reported deaths, food availability and health issues.
The court also issued notices to the concerned parties to appear before it on March 18.
