PA adopts resolution against Altaf's ‘military takeover’ comment
LAHORE: Punjab Assembly has adopted a resolution against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain's remarks regarding 'military takeover.'
The resolution was tabled by the Pakistan Tehreek e Inasf (PTI) member of the provincial assembly Mian Mehmoodur Rasheed.
The draft of resolution stated that the assembly would continue to oppose such mindset.
It is pertinent to mention here that Altaf Hussain had called upon the military to come forward for a take over of the country in case the army and government fail to come on the same page.
"We will have to decide between saving Pakistan and democracy," Altaf Husain stressed in a statement issued from London, adding, 'there will be a democracy, if there is Pakistan'.
