US CG hands over 25 bikes to Sindh Police

KARACHI: United States (US) Consul General Michael Dodman on Tuesday handed over 25 new motorcycles to acting Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police, Iqbal Mehmood. These motorcycles would be used by the legal and prosecution department of the police. Officials from US State Departments Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs were also present. Speaking on the occasion, US Consul General said that his country was committed to assist Sindh police in their efforts to improve law and order situation in Karachi. These motorcycles will provide needed transportation to for members of the Sindh police legal and prosecution teams in order to pursue their vital work. It is pertinent to mention that since 2011, United States of America had provided $29 million to Sindh police in terms of equipment, training, over 100 vehicles including pickup trucks, ambulances, coasters and police cars.
