Uzair Baloch, Baba Ladla groups agree on ceasefire: Palejo

HYDERABAD: Qaumi Awami Tehreek President, Ayaz Latif Palejo claims that Uzair Jaan Baloch and Baba Ladla groups have agreed to a ceasefire in Lyari, Geo News reported.

Addressing a press conference along with delegations of Baba Ladla and Uzair Baloch groups at his residence on Saturday, Palejo issued a 9-point joint communiqué.

According to Palejo, Uzair Baloch and Baba Ladla factions have ended their differences and announced a ceasefire.

Palejo said Lyari Ittehad Committee has also been formed for peace in the area. The committee would be headed by Palejo. Sania Baloch and Abdul Majeed Sarhari have been nominated by Uzair Baloch and Baba Ladla, respectively.

He said, in case any misunderstanding, both groups would approach the committee.

The joint statement also appealed to the migrants of Lyari to return to their homes.

In the statement, it was also demanded that targeted operation should be carried out against criminal elements even they were present in Lyari, Malir or Nazimabad areas. It also demanded Rs2 million each for the victims and Rs0.5 million each for the injured of Lyari violence.
