Protesting nurses end Lahore sit-in

LAHORE: Protesting nurses have announced to end their sit-in as they said the provincial government removed their reservations, Geo news reported.

According to the nurses, they had no differences with the Punjab government but only had some grievances, which now stand redressed by the government.

Earlier, ad hoc nurses on Monday continued their sit-in for the seventh day in front of the Punjab Assembly on The Mall to press the Punjab government and Health Department to regularise their services.

Bowing to the pressure of built by the nurses' continuous strike, the Punjab government on Sunday announced to give three-year contract letters to the ad hoc nurses with the commitment to regularise them after three years.

The nurses said that the government’s offer is positive and they have accepted it.
