Government to meet people’s expectations: Baloch

* Balochistan CM says there is no pressure for recruitments, postings

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that the incumbent government is the government of masses and their expectations would not be frustrated.
Talking to a meeting held to review the law and order situation in Balochistan on Sunday, he said that political influence has been done away with from the police department and there was no pressure over postings and recruitments. He stressed upon the police and administration to make hectic and result-oriented efforts to bring curtail the acts of violence and control the situation.
He said that although the law and order is comparatively better in the province, yet it is not satisfactory, adding that it is basically the responsibility of Police and Levis to control the law and order and stem the criminal activities. “They have to fulfil their responsibilities,” chief minister said and added that government would make all possible efforts to make provisions for the professional needs of the police and levies.
He said that administration and Police have complete authority and therefore, they should make result-oriented efforts to improve the law and order. Chief Minister was of the view that the development in Balochistan is inextricably linked with the maintenance of law and order and added that the writ of the government has to be maintained in all the district of the province.
He also directed Chief Secretary and IG Police to provide vehicles and necessary equipments to the police personnel in accordance with the genuine needs and announce awards and incentives for them on better performance. He also directed the police officials to take action against all the criminals, remaining beyond any discrimination or fear of pressure. He said that the personnel, acting in accordance with the law and constitution, would be provided all the needed protection.
He also directed the concerned commissioners of each district to allot 100 acre land to Police department so that training camps and other professional activities could be carried out there. He also emphasized that speedy reforms were needed in Police department and stressed upo0n the officials to monitor the performance of the personnel. Chief Minister said that to enhance coordination among various intelligence agencies, sharing and coordination committees should be formed at district and zonal level.
He also directed implementation of the decision of fixing CCTV cameras at the earliest in Quetta to thwart criminal activities.
