Lyari not the only hub of criminals: DG Rangers
KARACHI: Director General (DG) Rangers Sindh Major General Rizwan Akhtar has said that additional power, granted to the paramilitary force by Sindh government, was not more than a ‘piece of paper’, Geo News reported.
Addressing the inaugural session of Command and Control Centre in F.B Area, DG Rangers said Sindh government granted additional powers to paramilitary force after Supreme Court’s suo moto notice on August 24, 2011, however, these powers were not more than a piece of paper.
He said Lyari was not the only locality in Karachi with issues, adding there were other areas where the situation was not different from Lyari.
He said due to lack of proper proceedings, detained accused are released.
