Punjab govt. seeks four-month time for LB polls
ISLAMABAD: Punjab government has sought four-month time from Supreme Court (SC) for holding local bodies election in the province, Geo News reported.
Three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani was hearing LB elections case here Wednesday.
Advocate General (AG) Punjab Mustafa Ramdy submitted a report pertaining to timeframe for the LB polls in apex court. As per the report, the elections will be completed in 10 stages.
It would take four months to prepare draft legal bill and delimitation of constituencies for LB elections, the AG Punjab prayed in the court.
