Delimitation of constituencies: SC upholds SHC decision
KARACHI: The Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the decision of Sindh High Court (SHC) pertaining to delimitation of constituencies.
The apex court issued its verdict on the appeal against SHC decision on the delimitation of constituencies for local bodies (LB) polls in Sindh.
The three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice, Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani was hearing Karachi law and order implementation case here Thursday.
In its order, the apex court stated that legislation should be made for delimitation of constituencies. It added that delimitation process should be completed in five months.
The court observed that delimitation of constituencies and holding election was responsibility of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
