Sheikh Rashid off loaded from Canada flight
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Friday offloaded Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid, who said although his name is not the Exit Control List (ECL), yet he was stopped without telling him any reason, Geo News reported.
Sources said that Sheikh Rashid wanted to board a PIA flight PK-718 from Islamabad to Canada, but he was prevented from doing so.
PIA sources said that Sheikh Rashid was off loaded for want of clearance from Canada, while the government sources said that Canada Transport Security Agency didn’t issue NOC to Sheikh Rashid and the concerned government organization was trying to obtain more information as regards to Sheikh Rashid’s clearance.
On the other hand, Sheikh Rashid told Geo News that he was scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Pakistan House on March 23 besides attending several important functions relating to the Republic Day.
AML chief said his seat was confirm, his name was not on the ECL, yet PIA off loaded him without telling any reason, however, he was given off load slip.
Sheikh Rashid said he would raise this issue in the national assembly session.
