President, PM urge nation to confront challenges Pakistan is facing
ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have urged the nation to make a firm pledge that no effort would be spared to ensure a respectable status for the country in the comity of the nations and sincerely follow the principles of unity, faith and discipline as a guiding force to face all the challenges that we face today.
In their messages on the 74th anniversary of the adoption of the historic Pakistan resolution, the president and the PM said that this day reminds them of the vision of our leaders for their historic struggle, immense sacrifices and firm resolve for a separate country to live in peace and fashion our lives according to our beliefs and culture.
The PM said that March 23 is a milestone in the history of Pakistan when the Muslims of the Indian sub-continent passed the historic Lahore Resolution in the 27th annual meeting of All-India Muslim League.
This resolution gave a clear objective to the Muslims and united them for the attainment of a shared goal.
Nawaz Sharif said that countless people had given their blood to kindle the light of freedom and millions had to leave their homes to attain this purpose. He added that out elders had sacrificed their present for the sake of our future and we remember our forefathers and pay our gratitude to them for making extraordinary sacrifices to give us an identity.
“As a leader of a mainstream party of Pakistan, the responsibility to solve the problems Pakistan has been facing, lies more on my shoulders” he said.
The PM said that the people of Pakistan have expressed their confidence in PML-N in the 2013 elections and our government is committed to implement its reform and development oriented manifesto throughout the country.
He noted that Pakistan is passing through a critical phase however, the resilient nation has braved the daunting challenges with the spirit of one nation. He said that Pakistan is our identity that we have earned through immense sacrifices.
He added that the government is committed to preserve our great cultural heritage and national identity and to make serious efforts for the economic and social revival of Pakistan. Mamnoon Hussain in his message expressed the confidence that our collective efforts marked by patriotism, sincerity, commitment and honesty would help us steering this country towards prosperity and glory.
