Zardari calls for tolerance

Islamabad: On the eve of 74th Pakistan Day falling today, the former president Asif Ali Zardari has called for strengthening the institutions of democracy as well as for the protection of the rights and interests of non Muslim citizens in the country. “We need to strengthen the democratic institutions so that no dictator can usurp the basic rights of the people nor trample their democratic aspirations. This calls for working in the spirit of tolerance, mutual accommodation and respect for dissent,” he said.
