KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has set aside the order of a National Accountability Bureau (NAB) court that directed the NAB chairman to file a reference against Pakistan People’s Party leader Khurshid Shah.
A division bench, headed by Justice Ghulam Sarwar Korai, announced its order on a petition of PPP leader Khurshid Shah who questioned an order of the administrative judge of the accountability court that directed the NAB chairman to file reference against him within 30 days.
The bench observed in its order that Clause C of Section 9 of the NAB Ordinance said that if, after the completion of investigation of an offence against a holding of public office or any other person, the chairman is satisfied that no prima facie case is made out against them and the case be closed, the chairman shall refer the matter to court for approval and for the release of the accused, if in custody.
